Bathroom styles and designs are always evolving and new technologies introduced that make items easier to clean, practical, durable and easy to use. For any manufacturer, introducing a new range is always a challenge – how to improve on current and successful designs and how to identify and satisfy changing customer tastes.

When developing its latest “Ketho” range of bathroom furniture, Duravit took the challenge head-on through collaboration with prominent furniture designer, Christian Werner.

Born in Berlin, Werner is one of the most successful furniture designers in recent years. His high-profile work includes a range of storage furniture for Ligne Roset and sofas for Rolf Benz. When he turned his attention to bathrooms, sensuality was again top of his agenda.

Duravit Ketho Furniture Range

The Duravit Ketho Bathroom Furniture Range has a consistent design throughout, resulting in an attractive yet balanced appearance.

This is demonstrated by the clever use of a continuous aluminium strip handle that runs along the cabinets at rhythmical intervals. The strip elongates the lines of the furniture, making the elements appear even more streamlined and elegant.

All items of furniture feature comprehensive melamine resin protection, and bonded waterproof edges making them robust and durable.

The new Duravit Ketho furniture line includes sleek and rectangular style vanity units, mirrors and cabinets. There are a variety of finishes to choose from, including white, basalt and graphite for a touch of subtlety or garnet red for those looking to create a real wow factor . The matte surfaces are practical yet pleasant to the touch.

Duravit Ketho Vanity Units

The comprehensive Ketho range includes everything for your bathroom needs, from a small wall shelf and flexible mobile storage unit to practical tall and low cabinets that offer a generous amount of storage space. The vanity units are particularly versatile, with five different units to choose from . Each can be fitted in combination with the Duravit Starck 3 washbasins.

The Ketho Vanity Units provide the perfect platform for designing individual washing areas with integral washing bowls, console basins or built-in washbasins and offer a choice of one or two drawers.

Duravit Ketho Cabinets

The Ketho mirrors and mirrored cabinets in matching widths add the finishing touch to the range. The cabinets come with individually adjustable glass shelves and offer valuable storage space. For those who prefer their cabinets with handles, these are enclosed and can be easily screw-mounted. The illuminated mirrors and mirror cabinets are tested and certified in accordance with the IP 44 international safety standard.

The Ketho Tall cabinet for instance measures 500mm x 1800mm has 1 door and includes 3 glass shelves and 1 wooden shelf. The Ketho Mirror Cabinet range has 2 fluorescent tubes and a sensor light switch.

SoftClose function

The Ketho design incorporates SoftClose technology wherever possible. The integrated SoftClose function with silicon end dampers, allows doors to always close smoothly and quietly , sparing the user’s fingers and preventing damage to drawer surfaces.

“We tend to keep a bathroom even longer than the kitchen and longer than any sofa or dining table. This means there is a strong need for certainty. The certainty of knowing that we won’t tire too quickly of looking at it. With advancements in underfloor heating technology, you may be surprised to learn that underfloor bathroom heating is both energy efficient and inexpensive to run, added to which you will also save on space, with all the workings neatly concealed out of sight under your flooring.

Devimat underfloor bathroom heating is an ideal solution for bathrooms. This system offers all the warmth and comfort you will need, delivered at comparatively low cost, and without the need for radiators.

Supplied as a mat, it is easy to install, cut and turn to fit the available free floor area, and is suitable for installation in most applications whether it be a new concrete floor, under tiles, or new or renovated wooden floors. A typical installation in a standard sized bathroom can be done in a day.

How does Devimat underfloor bathroom heating work?

The 3-3.5mm thick mat is made with self adhesive mesh and pre-attached ultra thin cabling. The mats can be supplied in a range of sizes and power output and are designed to generate a designated heat output ( measured in “Watts”, per unit area), when installed according to the manufacturer’s guidelines.

Devimat electric underfloor bathroom heating distributes heat evenly over the whole floor.

To control the heat output you can purchase the Devireg 550 Electric Thermostat/Timer available in two colours, white priced at £81.59 and silver priced £86.19 both including VAT.

Devimat Underfloor Bathroom Heating comes in a full range of sizes, from 0.5m-12m and is available as both 100W and 150W per m2 for installation onto both concrete and timber floors. The cable is a twin conductor with no second tail to return to the thermostat, saving on installation time and cost.

This is the smallest map option and covers 1.0m² with 100 Watts per m2. It is priced at £83.79 including VAT reduced from an RRP of £96.49.
