Duravit Covers
There is no mistaking that the Duravit Covers series for the new 2011 range is unusual.
Previous we saw these covers on the Duravit Sundeck and Blue Moon bathtubs. For me it made perfect sense. These are outdoor bath tubs.
However, bringing it indoors, hmmmm…well let’s just say I’m not sure – is there a demand or need for such a product?
Pioneers in Bathroom Ceramics
Duravit are innovators. Like Apple they constantly break new ground in trying to re-invent existing ideas or breaking the mould with new ones.
Not only do they innovator, like Apple they understand the value of great design. However, it’s important to separate good design and style. Style is something that can fade with time and which is of the moment. Design goes beyond that. It considers, functionality, ergonomics, aesthetics and quality.
Who am I to judge
So here we have the Duravit Covers series for 2011. In effect it’s a comfortable relaxation deck. It’s ultra-modern in its outlook and as such is functionality divides itself between a bath, relaxation deck, storage or a seat.
It’s easy enough to pass judgment and write off something that is different.
But as Apple has discovered with Ipad sales – 14.8 Million* people can’t all be wrong.
*14.8 millins Ipad sales as of January 2011
