Oh how I felt for that duck! Just wanted a little rest from all that swimming about! I know just how he feels….not that I’ve been swimming in Hong Kong harbour, but I have tracked his progress from Sydney to London and I must admit he looks a little tired to me.

So the duck who is supposed to be putting a smile on everyone’s face, supposed to be cheering us up has become the object of anxious conversation and a worry that he will never swim again!

50ft of deflated rubber duckie and all the world now knows his Achilles heel or webbed toe! He just doesn’t like waves.

Well, I have offered to take him in. Yes me and yes here in my designer showroom at Ocean Bathrooms.

I have hundreds of ducks in my luxury free standing bath in the window and one more duck won’t make that much difference will it? They are all splashing about waiting to be counted for the competition. Yes you’ve guessed it!

A Song for Paul and the Weldmar Hospice Trust

“LIVE” Saturday 27^th April

I was in Ocean Bathrooms one day about 5 years ago when a tall young man breezed in, had a good look around the showroom and then introduced himself as a bathroom fitter who had just moved down from London. After showing me his bathroom portfolio he asked if I had any work to give him. This was my first meeting with Paul.

I liked his easy manner, confident but unassuming and after speaking to my colleagues decided to give him a bathroom project.

Several years and many bathroom projects later he has endeared himself to all the people he fitted bathrooms for and to all of us at Ocean Bathrooms.

He was always thorough and diligent and all of his clients liked and respected that.

So as you can imagine it came as a huge shock to me and to all of us at Ocean Bathrooms who have worked with Paul over the years to learn that he was diagnosed with cancer last year.

Our first thought ..He is so young.

Paul now has terminal cancer, we are all spinning in shock and thinking we want to do something but what can we do? How can we help? Can we help?

All of us at Ocean agreed we wanted to do something. So after putting my thinking cap on, this is what we are going to do

On Saturday 27^th April.  Ocean Bathrooms car park will be hosting

“A Song for Paul”

This will be a live performance from local musicians. All giving their songs and time for free.

Sharon my wife and part of singing duo Shiraz  had the idea. She was in the Woodman singing when she decided to ask all her singing mates if they could spare the time to give Paul some songs and raise money for the Weldamr hospice trust at the same time.

All of them said yes straight away and will be out on the 27^th  April in the car park singing for free between 10am in the morning until 4pm.

All these amazing, brilliant performers will be singing and playing for free. Don’t miss it.

There will be music from the duo“Shiraz” Sharon & Shirley, The branded men featuring Pete and Maurice, Val & Dave, Aidan Simpson, Chris Deacon, Matt and his cello, Jack Harrison, Tony Cooke, And many more artistes.

All money raised is to be shared between Paul and the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust. I thought as we are a local Business, Paul is a local lad and  he has been helped by our local Weldmar hospice Trust this would be a good start. Paul would really love some music, film and game downloads but secretly he hankers for an Apple Mac computer. It would be great if we could manage to buy him one and have lots of money left for the Weldmar hospice care Trust.

We will be selling pink cakes, refreshments, books, pledges- well anything we can get our hands on to raise buckets of money for both Paul and the Weldmar Hospice care Trust.

Tamara Ecclestone sent 5 minions on an expedition ‘up the Amazon’ to harvest a crystal, so that she can create a state of the art bath tub for her £47 million London home

Did she really spend so much on one bath?

When asked at the time she admitted that ‘It’s completely true. They’ve gone to find this crystal which will be turned into my bathtub. It’s costing £1 million because I’ve got to reinforce the floor and I’ve had to pay for everyone’s travel and the hauling back and the polishing of the crystal.”

It was with great excitement then that I read, Tamara was selling one of her London homes. I wondered if we would be able to catch a glimpse of said bath. But…although the sale pictures feature the indoor gym, swimming pool and tanning bed no bath was forth coming!
