Tasked with updating an old family bathroom with a contemporary look that incorporated colour and mixed metals, the team at Ocean Bathrooms took this brief and worked with the client to create a space that would not only work for them and their needs, but exceed their expectations in terms of style and finish.

In their element, the experts at Ocean Bathrooms wasted no time in setting to work to bring this vision to life.

A sophisticated and calming colour palette was selected, coupling gentle taupe walls with muted dusky brown blinds to compliment the ash wood flooring. Soft gold finishings to mirror edgings and cabinet handles were utilised to bring a warmth to the scheme, creating a playfully modern contrast against the luxe polished chrome of fixtures and fittings. 

With such a refined palette the space might have felt a little passive, but the dark wood of the bathroom vanity elevates the room into a truly contemporary vision. Set proudly in the centre of the bathroom, it really is a sight to behold, and sets the tone of the space perfectly. Its well-lit his and hers inset sinks take care of the practicalities of a busy family bathroom, while simultaneously remaining oh-so luxurious thanks to sleek marble, elegant faucets, and contemporary oval mirrors.

The marble of the counter top is continued into the shower, where a touch of drama is added in the form of decadent floor to ceiling marble panelling. But the piece de resistance has to be the two person freestanding double ended bath, complete with chrome freestanding taps. Situated beautifully in front of the room’s sash window, it’s the dream location for soaking the day’s stresses away while admiring the beauty of nature, be-it a starry sky or lush green trees.

And because practicality and beauty don’t have to be strangers, an elegant chrome wall mounted towel rail sits perfectly placed at the end of the bath, just waiting to envelope you in a warmed Egyptian cotton after your soak.
