How much love does your under-stairs cloakroom get?As an often neglected room when it comes…
Pietra Tiles Case Study
Do you remember we said this matt black trend was to continue? Well, it is showcased in vibrant brilliance here against some serious colour and pattern in this matt black and terrazzo bathroom.
If you didn’t already want a new bathroom you certainly will now. With elegant contrasts of form and playful uses of colour, we’re proud to shout about this space we created. By infusing the client needs and ideas with our technical knowhow and expertise, the end result surpassed anything that either party would have created independently.
Here to show that stone can make as bold or subtle a statement as you desire, the scheme incorporates three beautiful tile choices from Ca’Pietra. Large show-stopping terrazzo tiles in a matt finish contrast against demure perpendicular white brick tiles, which are kept modern and intriguing in their textured finish. Finally the slate-grey floor grounds the room, striking the optimum balance between practicality and style.
Cupboards and shelves painted to the same tone as the walls to expertly disappear into the room, enhancing the feeling of space. By keeping the lines simple and the palette sophisticated, this bathroom will stand the test of time.
It’s the details that make a space, and this bathroom showcases that perfectly. Alongside the meticulous high-end finish, the matt black accents carry throughout the room – from towel rail to taps, and toilet flush to shower fittings. Even the Majestic shower screen, frosted to perfection, is secured using a matt black rail. This is elevated with the matt black edging around the terrazzo-tiled toilet is mirrored on the edging of the terrazzo inlaid recess above the beautifully curved Waters bath.
Elegantly crafted Saneux bowls sit atop the strong lines of a Duravit vanity, and this balance between curves and angles, striking and soft, underpins the whole scheme.
Wall mounted curving matt black Hansgrohe brassware lends a further air of modern elegance to the space, while the mirrors and adjacent lighting are finished in a soft gold, to bring a touch of warmth to the scheme. It’s the perfect interplay of masculine and feminine energies for a his and hers sink unit.
It’s not one element that makes this scheme work; rather the collective design. Saneux bowls, Duravit furniture and a Waters bath are all very special items, but it’s the interplay of the design – the use of colour, proportions and lines – along with the consideration of day-to-day practicalities and the client’s needs, that truly elevates the space.
